 Court stops Gov. Ganduje from splitting  Kano emirate



The last is yet to be heard over the controversy surrounding the decision of Gov. Ganduje shred Kano Emirate into additional four emirate, as a High Court  sitting in Kano has issued an expate order restraining the implementation of the law that has been signed by Gov. Ganduje two days ago.

 The respondent in the case included  Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Kano State House of Assembly and Speaker, Clerk of the Assembly, including the Attorney-General and the State .


The  exparte motion, dated, May 10, 2019, filed by Hon Sule Gwarzo, before Justice Nasiru Saminu, seeking the court to restrain the respondents from taking any action of creating four additional Emirates.

The Court in  an order of interim injunction  directed all parties in this suit to maintain status quo, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

ImpactOnlineNigeria reports that Gov. Ganduje has already signed into law the bill, a move that is seeing by analyst as a direct attack of Emir Sanusi than desirable.
