'Perform reward generating activities, pray for peaceful transition' - Yobe Gov elect tasks Muslims as Ramadan kicks off


 The Governor elect for Yobe State Hon. Mai Mala Buni has enjoined Muslims all over Nigeria and Yobe in particular to engage in activities that will generate reward for them during this Holy month of Ramadan.

Hon. Mai Mala on his Facebook page also reminded Nigerians to put the country in prayers for a peaceful transition in the country come May 29th, 2019.

Hon. Mai Mala is one of the newly elected governors that will be taking his oath of office on May 29, 2019 for a four year term as governor of Yobe State.

In his message to the people, the governor elect said the golden opportunity provided by the month of Ramadan should be utilized by all Muslim fateful to perform as may reward generating activities such as zikr, sadaqah, seeking forgiveness from Allah and the people, reading the glorious Quran among other things.

"As we set to begin Fasting of the holy month of Ramadan, I enjoin all of us to utilize this golden opportunity to perform as many reward generating activities as possible; intensify in our zikr, sadaqah, seeking forgiveness, reading the glorious Qur'an, and many more. On the other hand avoid act which Allah has prohibited,", Mai Mala enjoined.

On the political transition in the country which he would be actively involved, the governor elect said, "Remember, this period is critical particularly to Nigerians, it is a time of political transition__ meaning a paradigm shift of leadership as enshrined in the country's constitution, a challenge that's coming to us in speed of a blink of an eye __at a time the nation is facing  persistent level of insecurity that bedeviled the good living of the populace.

"While, we anticipate rigorous government effort to curtail this dirty act, we should not relent in our prayers, that Allah the Almighty and the Master peace shall intervene and bring lasting peace and tranquillity to our dear nation".

The Governor elect in his message also called on people to support them in prayers to recruit good people that will support their course in the delivery of good governance instead of those that that are self-seeking and will cause them failure in the discharge of their duties.

"Let's also pray for our leaders to employ good lieutenants that will support them in delivering this prodigious assignment, and deny success to anyone that plan to ruin what is better for the masses",the  governor elect said.

“Upon due verification and authentication by the states and national moon sighting committees and states confirmation, as well as routine scrutiny, the sighting of the new moon of Ramadan signifies the end of Sha’aban 1440 AH.

”In accordance with Islamic law, Muslim Ummah are to commence fasting on Thursday accordingly.”

“We further called on Nigerians to continue to live peacefully with one another irrespective of religious and tribal difference,” the Sultan said.
