Yobe Police Command lunches Operation Puff Adder

CP Abdulmiki  lunching Operation Puff Adder in Damaturu with other security chiefs in the state.


The Yobe State Police Command on Friday lunched the Operation Puff Adder in the State to curb crimes and criminality within the state.
The State Commissioner of Police Sunmuno Abdulmilliki disclosed this at the inaugural of the operation in Damaturu.
CP Sunmuno said, some ugly cases of criminality such as rape, armed banditry and kidnapping  have started rearing their heads immediately after the election but the state command is working very hard to nip the trends from the bud.
“The aim of the operation is to tackle crimes affecting the state such as: insurgency, banditry, cattle rustling, kidnapping, armed robbery among other crimes and also prevent influx of criminal elements to the state considering the ongoing security operations in the neighboring states as Yobe has border with four state, Gombe, Borno, Bauchi and Jigawa States.
“So far, the operation is yielding positive results as a lot of criminal activities in the state were nipped in the bud while a total of thirty(39) suspects were arrested in connections with different crimes mentioned above.

“The CP also denied reports that some mobile police attached to the police command are dying of hunger for lack of payment. He described the campaign as mischievous and callous, stressing that not mopol visiting or resident is owned any allowances as at the last count conducted,” the CP explained.
 According to the CP, the policeman who died is different from the picture of the police in circulation in Damaturu.
The CP called on the general public to give the police the required cooperation to succeed in the onerous task of the operation which is re-coded as ; ‘Operation Kukan Maciji’ in the state.
