Gov. Buni keeps mute over list of commissioners

Gov. Buni

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has refused to comment on whether he has submitted list of Commissioners to the State House of Assembly or when he will be doing so.

Gov. Buni at a press interview with journalists in Damaturu turned away from reporters when he was asked if he has submitted the list of nominees as commissioners to the State House of Assembly which has since been inaugurated on June 24th, 2019.

An APC stalwart in the state who spoke on the condition of anonymity to this reporter wondered why i should be bothering the governor when even the President has not submitted his ministerial list to the senate.

when contacted, the State Chairman of All Progressive Congress(APC) Adamu Chilariyel said the governor has not contacted the party leadership for any nomination of commissioners.

"I have not been contacted for any list of commissioners so far by the governor. we have not discussed anything concerning that as a party," the chairman said.

There are however unconfirmed reports that Gov. Mai Mala Buni is under pressure for the former governor, Sen. Ibrahim Gaidam to retain some of his former commissioners to the new executive council of the state.

Some of the rumours have even gone specific that the former governor has given Gov. Buni a lists of seven to eight of the former commissioners he must re-appoint to his cabinet.

A strong party man in the state who does not want to be mentioned informed that, "it is obvious that Gov. Buni will mix his cabinet with that of some old commissioners of Ibrahim Gaidam because they are from the same party. What people should know is that this government did not take-over from PDP or any other political party. It is the same party so the issue of saying the governor is under pressure does not arise. They will have to work together and move along," the source revealed.
