Gov. Buni takes budget tracking to Saudi Arabia, rejigs logistics arrangement of Yobe pilgrims

From  all  indications, Gov. Mai Mala Buni seem to have keyed into the #FollowTheMoney Campaign as he took time off his religious duties in Saudi Arabia  to inspect facilities earmarked for Yobe Pilgrims for the 2019 Hajj.
Gov. Buni’s action is clearly a message that he wants to get value for the monies being expended in the state, his visit to the facility is also  a massive step to  ensuring an efficient budget tracking as the governor ordered an immediate rejig of the logistic arrangement for the pilgrims.
In an update provided by Abdullahi Bego, the Director General of Press and Information Affairs to Gov. Mai Mala on his facebook page revealed that the governor was dissatisfied with the facilities provided by Manabir As-Souda Company, the logistics company for the pilgrims.
Consequently, the governor ordered the immediate replacement of the beddings and also directed that all meals of the pilgrims should be served in their rooms and nowhere else.

Bego said: “On the sidelines of his Umrah visit to Saudi Arabia, H.E Governor Mai Mala Buni has inspected accommodation and other facilities organized by the State Pilgrims Commission for intending pilgrims who will perform this year's Hajj.

“In Mecca, the governor was at the facility opposite Bin Ladan Mosque on Ummul Qura Street where Yobe Pilgrims will be housed.

“The governor was conducted round the facility by Mahmoud Abubakar, a representative of Manabir As-Souda Company which is providing logistics facilitation on behalf of the Pilgrims Commission.
“H.E Gov Buni ordered that the beddings in the facility should be replaced with new ones and that the pilgrims should be served their meals in their rooms.
“The governor reiterated that everything necessary should be done throughout the Hajj circle to ensure that Pilgrims have the best possible environment to perform their pilgrimage”.
It would be recalled, former governor Ibrahim Gaidam, now senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria just six days to the expiration of his tenure on May, 29, 2019 approved the sum of N127,187,270.00 as  operational expenses of 2019 Hajj for the state.

Gov. Buni who traveled for lesser Hajj on Thursday last week is expected to be back today 16/07/2019.
