Potiskum Emir canvases support for Gov. Buni's education initiative

His Royal Highness the Emir of Pataskum Mai Umar Bubaram Ibn Wuriwa Bauya Oon has called on the people of Yobe State to support the educational initiative of Gov. Mai Mala Buni in reviving education in the State.

The Royal father who spoke to our correspondent at his palace in Potiskum said the declaration of a State of Emergency on education in the State by the governor is a bold step that needs the support of all Yobeans for the governor.

"I want to make this clarion call that all Yobeans especially technocrats should join hands together and support our governor by providing useful ideas that will impact positively on his plans to revive education in the State.

“The Governor has taken a bold step to declare the State of Emergency on Primary education and secondary and the need to cross-fertilize ideas is very important for the progress of our dear state. We in the traditional institutions will also provide the need cooperation for this laudable initiative to come to fruition”, the Emir said.

The emir as part of his Sallah message to his people also enjoined his subjects to imbibe the spirit of unity among themselves and to also be their brothers keepers in both good and bad times.

He called on the farmers and cattle rearers in the state to continue to live in peace with one another and avoid issues that will bring conflicts among themselves, noting that, Yobe has over the time time enjoyed a harmonious relationship between farmers and cattle rearers.

The monarch commended the Federal Government in the progress made so far especially in areas of Power, roads and the revitalization of the rail transportation in the country.

He called on the people to support the security agencies by reporting suspicious characters around them.
