'Finish Boko Haram now' - theatre commander charges troops

Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj. General Olusegun Adeniyi has charged troops of the theatre to move swiftly and finish up Boko Haram in the northeast.

The Theatre Commander who carried out an operational visit to Damaturu, Sector II of the theatre told the soldiers  in what could best be described as a  moral boosting address at the Sector 2 headquarters Operation Lafiya Dole in Damaturu charged the troops to deal ruthlessly with Boko Haram and any body seeing to be supporting Boko haram.

According to him, the soldiers are capable of doing the job and should not be deterred by any obstacle that will stand on their way to finish the job.

His words: “I have come here to deliver a very simple message to you. My message is: “Get rid of Boko haram. Stamp out Boko haram from the northeast now. Let there be no excuses. Let there be no questions or ups and downs. Destroys Boko Haram now. You  know you can do it. I know you can do it. Army Headquarters knows you can do it.  You are doing you constitutional duty. Be confident. Be ruthless with Boko Haram and anybody supporting Boko Haram. Don’t show him any kindness or pity”, Major Gen. Adeniyi charged.

The Theatre Commander who refused to grant any interview to the press has had almost five hours closed door meeting with commanders in the theatre with the sector II commander.

He was accompanied on the visit by the General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army/ Commander Sector 1 Operation LAFIYA DOLE Brigadier General Abdul Ibrahim, Commander Nigerian Army Special Forces Command Major General Moundhey Ali, Corps Commander Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport Major General Victor Offiong and other very senior officers accompanied the Theatre Commander to Headquarters Sector 2, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Damaturu, Brig. Gen. Sallau Ali.
