The competitive bidding for the construction of the Damaturu Ultra Modern Market(DUMM) was today opened at the conference hall of the ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industries, Damaturu.
About thirteen companies indicated interest and made their submission to
execute the multi=million naira contract.
The Director of Cmmerce in the ministry, Audu Abubakar Daya who
represented the permanent secretary of the ministry Goni Aji wished all the
bidding company best of luck as the process for the selection as contractors
for the market has started.
He informed that the report of the ministry will be forwarded to a technical committee at the buaru for public procured and brought back to the ministry to be forwarded to government before a winner will be announced.
The Director of Commerce however assured all the contractors of a transparent selection process, stressing that the best bid will be selected.
He charged whichever contractor(s) that will be eventually selected should ensure quality and speeding completion as Yobe traders are yearning for the market.
He commended Gov. Mai Mala Buni for his bold step in ensuring that the dream of Damaturu traders for an ultra modern market comes to fruition.

The process which was transparently done had the representative of all
the companies that submitted their bids consideration.
Eighteenth Engineering Company(EEC) made the highest bid of over N4
billion while AG Vision had the least quotation of just over N200 million but
only billing for SLOT.
The representative of EuroAfric Energy Ltd who spoke on behalf of all the contractors,
commended the bidding process which he described as transparent, while wishing
everyone luck.
Twelve tenders were opened with the other one disqualified because it
was labelled.
