Yobe Desert Football Club and management have commenced an intensive preparation ahead of  the Nigeria National League.

ImpactOnlineNigeria reports that about 68 players have so far reported to the camp at the August 27 Stadium in Damaturu.

The Technical crew of the team in the last few  weeks carried out a rigorous screening process that has seen  about  35 players already screened out from the trials, the Technical adviser of the team Mustapha Audu has confirmed.

“We had about 68 players that reported to the camp as at the time we opened the camp. So far, we have screened out   35 of them and the screening still ongoing,” the TA said.

Commenting on the number of players that the team wants to recruit, the TA said, “we are still waiting for some of our old players to return from the break. For now, we have less than ten of our old players that are in camp. But we are working on quickly re-enforcing all the areas that we need to re-enforced.

What we need at the moment is for the management to organize matches for us outside so as to test our level of preparedness for the league ahead. Even from the matches, it will help us to screen further better players that will be finally recruited in the team,” Audu informed.

ImpaxctOnlinenigeria reports that Yobe Deserts Stars fc will not be playing in the Nigeria premier league this season after been relegated from the league alongside their neighbours, El-Kanami Warriors of Maiduguri.
