COVID-19: Yobe orders workers to resume work

The Yobe State Government has ordered all civil Servants that were asked to stay at home due to the Coronavirus pandemic to resume duty next Monday, August 17, 2020 but to observe full compliance to the protocols of COVID 19.

 

ImpactOnlineNigeria  reports that Civil Servants from grade level 1-12 were directed to stay at home at the height of the COVID 19 outbreak in the country since march this year.

 

The Chairman of COVID 19 task force of OVID 19 who doubles  the Deputy Government of Yobe State, Hon. Idi Barde Guban at a press briefing in Damaturu announced that the molecular laboratory in the state has already started testing samples of COVID 19 in the state.

                                        
The Molecular Lab has started working so far with 40 tested, 43 waiting to be tested, 1 Positive. The total number of Covid-19 cases in Yobe State is 362, 225 Negative, 67 confirmed cases with 8 deaths, 2 active case and 59 discharges. While Federal Medical Center (FMC) Nguru is on course,”          Ho. Gubana informed.

He added that  the committee has supported the State Ministry of Education to safely reopen schools for students in SS3 and JSS 3 who are preparing for their final exams. The committee also embarked on motorized campaigns and other community-based interventions, conducted the COVID-19 heroes campaign and continued intensified case search, surveillance and contact tracing.


The committee wishes to thank all those that supported the state with various material, Financial and technical support in the prevention and control of COVID-19. Notable among which are our donor and implementing partners, the NCDC, NEDC and CACOVID among others. Citizens of Yobe state are enjoined to continue to adhere strictly to the prevention and control measures for COVID-19 such as proper wearing of facemasks in crowded places,” he said.


The Committee warned citizens that the pandemic is not yet over just as it directed that: “Citizens are reminded that wearing of face masks in all public places is mandatory and should be strictly observed.

Banks, markets and other private organizations should ensure social distancing in their office as well as observe other COVID-19 protocols 4. Government of His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni the Executive”.
