New CP assumes office in Borno

A new commissioner of Police, CP Bello Makwashi  has assumed duty in Borno State Police Command.


CP Bello took over from CP Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu who has been deployed to another formation.


The Borno State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Edet Okon in a press statement made available to journalists in Maiduguri said the new CP is coming with a vast wealth of experience having served in the police force in different administrative capacities.


The statement also solicits the cooperation of the general public to the new CP to help him fight criminality in the state.


The new CP according to the statement holds a Bsc degree in management Science from Usman Danfodio University Sokoto. He hails from Zamafara state.


His statement reads n full:


This is to inform the general public that CP Bello Makwashi has officially taken over the mantle of leadership as the Commissioner of Police Borno State Command. He replaces CP Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu who has been redeployed to another formation.


CP Bello Makwashi who hails from Zamfara state is a seasoned Police Officer. He brings with him a wealth of operational experience and administrative acumen. He is the immediate past Commissioner of Police in-charge of Airport Command. He also previously served as the Commissioner of Police Gombe State Command.


CP Makwashi has a vast knowledge of the job having served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Department of Operations in Ogun State Command and Zone 9 Umauhia. He was also the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Second-in-Command) IGP’s monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja.


Other positions previously held by the Commissioner of Police include Area Commander Port Harcourt Area Command, Assistant Commissioner of Police Department of Operations in FCT and Jigawa Commands.


Down the ladder, the CP had previously served as the Divisional Police officer Isheri and Iponri Divisions in Lagos Command; Abraka and ‘B’ Division Asaba in Delta State Command, as well as in Katako Division in Jos, Plateau state Command. He equally served as the officer-in-charge Port Investigation Intelligence Bureau, Apapa, Lagos.


 

CP Bello Makwashi holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Science from the prestigious Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto. He has attended several courses on Strategic Management and Leadership, both within and outside the country.


The Commissioner of Police is appealing to members of the public to give the Command under his leadership maximum support and cooperation as he sets out to bring peace and security to all nooks and crannies of the State.
