Qatar Charity Foundation flags off Eyes Surgery for over 1000 Vulnerable People in Yobe

 The Qatar Charity Foundation today commenced the treatment and surgery of over one thousand people in Yobe State. 

 ImpactOnlineNigeria  recalled that the Foundation last month laid the foundation for the construction of a multi-million naira multi-skilled home for the privilege, which comprised of a school, hospital and an Islamic Centre in Damaturu, the State capita. 

 Hundreds of residents and others travelled from far to attend the program which is ongoing at the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital. 

 The Representative of the Foundation, Dr. Zain Yayyib, the Head of Qatar Charity and Future Leader Amen in company of the Commissioner of Health Dr. Lawan Gana and the Chief Medical Director of YSUTH, Dr. Baba Waru Goni went round the hospital to inspect the treatment of beneficiaries.

 Dr. Tayyib who spoke with journalists after supervising the exercise said he was impressed by the turn out of the people for the exercise. He noted that the objective of the Foundation is to provide services for the less privilege and the vulnerable in the society, stressing that the eye treatment and surgery is free of charge for everyone that will assess the services. 

 Dr. Tayyib also informed that the the initial population target for the exercise is for 1000 beneficiaries but an excess will be registered and reschedule for another surgery in subsequent time. 

 In his remarks, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Lawan Gana praised the partnership between the state government and the foundation. 

 He noted that Yobe State Government will continue to partner with the Qatar foundation in areas of needs and interest, while also praising the Multi-Million naira centre under construction by the foundation in Damaturu.
