Sallah: Yobe Deputy Governor Request Prayers for Peaceful Power Transition

 Yobe State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana has called for prayers for the peaceful transition of power come May 29/05/2023. 

 Alhaji Gubana who spoke with journalists after performing his three Rakat Prayers to mark the Eid-El.Fitri celebration among hundred other faithful at the Central Mosque in Damaturu said the country at this stage need to be committed in the hands of God for a peaceful transition from Buhari to Tinubu administration. 

 “We are grateful to the Almighty Allah for seeing this day come to pass. I want to urge all the people of Yobe Sate and indeed all Nigerian to pray for a peaceful transition of power from Buhari to our President elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Alhaji Gubana said. 

 The Deputy Governor also admonished all Muslim faithful not to forget the lesson of the fastening period by continuing to be generous to one another and abstain from all kinds of vices that will hinder them from getting closer to their creator. 

 Earlier, the Chief Imam of Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre, Hustaz Hudu Mohammed who led the three Rakaat Prayers called on the congregation to continue to be God fearing by imbibing in them the lesson of the fasting. 

 The prayers were attended by other top Government officials in the state including members of the State Executive Council, the police commissioner and the State Director of Secret Services.

Gov. Buni Congratulates APC, Bomoi Over Senatorial Victory

Yobe state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Yobe South Senator, Ibrahim Mohammed Bomoi, on his success and return as Senator-elect of the Zone 'B' Senatorial election. 

In a felicitation message sent out the Director of Press Affair to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed described the victory of the senator as an addition to the APC National Government led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

"I am optimistic the Senator would always lend his support to legislation on policies and programmes of the Federal government.

"We are also optimistic the experienced law maker would bring his experience to bear and continue to work towards improving the lives of his constituents" Buni said. 

 The Statement  urged the people of Zone B to continue supporting the law maker for more dividends of democracy.

It will be recalled that the Independent Electoral Commission had declared the February 25/2023 election in the senatorial zone inconclusive following reports of over voting in Manawachi ward in Fika Local Government.
